HUDSON, Wis. – A Minnesota man arrested for stabbing a teenager to death and injuring four others was charged with murder in St. Croix County Court. Bail for Nicolae Miu, 52, of Prior Lake, was set at $1 million. Miu’s attorney suggested $50,000, noting Miu was a professional person and not a flight risk and had no criminal record. Judge Michael Waterman was unmoved and sent Miu back to his cell at the county jail. If Miu posts the $1 million bail, he is barred from possessing dangerous weapons until court proceedings are over — plus maintaining absolute sobriety and being restricted from a half-mile from each victims’ homes.

Miu. Charges: One count of first-degree intentional homicide and four counts of attempted first-degree intentional homicide. Conviction in Wisconsin means life in prison.
