GILMANTON, Wis. – A South St. Paul motorcyclist was airlifted from a motorcycle crash on Highway 37 west of Gilmanton. Fellow bikers said James R. Ruecke, 74, struck a guardrail after taking a corner too fast. He was lying unresponsive but breathing next to the guardrail when first-responders arrived. He was flown 30 miles to an Eau Claire hospital. His injuries were described as severe.
