MAPLETON, Minn. — Bicyclists out for a morning ride were struck from behind by a car on a rural road south of Mapleton. Initial reports said eight bicyclists, mostly young people, were in the tangled mess and some seriously injured. A Mayo air ambulance was dispatched from Mankato, 20 miles away. The accident was about 7:30 a.m. on County Road 7 near 111th Street. Blue Earth County deputies said the car, a 2012 Chevrolet Volt, was driven by Jenna Phuong-Thao Luong, 30. She was not injured.
