WINONA, Minn. – The Winona School Board put off a decision on how to reopen schools for fall. The delay came after 4-1/2 hours of discussion on options got nowhere. The Board then decided to meet at 6 p.m., Wednesday. to continue discussion. The Board has until Aug. 25 to let the state Education Department know what it will do. At the meeting Superintendent Annette Freiheit laid out these options:
> All students learn in traditional in-person classes.
> Early childhood through sixth grade students learn in-person, while older students learn in a mix of in-person and online classes.
> All students learn in a hybrid model, with in-class meetings staggered two days ae week or two days in-class and three days online.
> Elementary through sixth grade students learn in a hybrid model, while older students learn online.
> All students learn online full time.
Every option would allow for families to decide to keep children home to learn online.
