LEWISTON, Minn. – Now that the decision has been made to close the Altura intermediate school, the Lewiston-Altura School Board is faced with what to do with the property. Superintendent Gwen Carman said an initial step likely will be to get an estimate on the market value of the one-story school building on the 300 block of First Avenue Southeast. Commercial real estate in Altura, population 470, has been stagnant since the town’s turkey plant changed hands several times and eventually closed.
