ROCHESTER, Minn. – A dual-media scammer fleeced a Rochester woman out of $6,0000. Police gave this account: The woman received a text message, supposedly from her bank, that there had been fraudulent activity involving her account. Then she got a phone call, again supposedly from the bank. To fix problem, the caller asked for the woman’s Social Security number. She gave the final four digits, but the caller asked for all the numbers. She did as asked. When the call ended, she contacted the bank. Six-thousand dollars had just be deducted from her account.
