LACROSSE, Wis. – The La Crosse School voted to eliminate the police presence in schools. Fewer officers will be employed through a contract with the Police Department over the next two years. Disciplinary practices will be absorbed by internal staff. A study found that the police presence had negative effects particularly on marginalized students.
