BYRON, Minn. – An Owatonna man was injured critically when two east-bound vehicles collided on Highway 14. Jerald Edward Fix, 79, of Owatonna was flown 10 miles to a Rochester hospital with life-threatening injuries. The collision was about 9:55 a.m. Pavement was wet. Police said Fix was driving a 2020 Chevrolet Equinox. The other driver, Kari Jean Peters, 44, of Mankato, was taken by ground ambulance to Rochester with less serious injuries. The accident was at the Second Avenue Southwest intersection.
