WINONA, Minn. – As a family was sitting down for lunch, there was a commotion outside. Somewhat recklessly and a little too fast, somebody was backing the family’s 2014 Impala out of the detached garage, which had been closed. The driver scraped the siding on a neighbor’s house on the way down the driveway, then sped off down the 650 block of East Sarnia. When police recovered the vehicle, it had been abandoned but with major additional damage from hitting a tree somewhere along the way. Strange as it may seem, someone had left a driver’s license in the car. Was it a clue to the thief? Stay tuned.
