WINONA, Minn. – When police arrived in the leafy 500 block of Kerry Drive on the Far West End, there it was – a car smashed into at a house. There too was the driver, Leslie Loraine Boerst, 70, of Winona. Her eyelids, said officers, were droopy, her slurred speech, and her balance poor. She was uninjured. Nobody in the house was hurt. Police booked Boerst on suspicion of driving under the influence of a controlled substance. This was about 4:10 p.m.
