NELSON, Wis. – Both drivers escaped injury in a two-vehicle collision at the junction of two state highways two miles west of Nelson. A Chevrolet Silverado heading east on Highway 35 was attempting to turn left onto Highway 25 toward Durand, deputies said. The pickup turned in front of a westbound Ford Edge coming from Nelson, deputies said. The drivers: Jody Haglund, 59, of Pepin, and Terrence McConnell, 76, of Eleva. It took 40 minutes to reopen a blocked lane.
