Casino shooter had been fired earlier

GREEN BAY, Wis. – The man who shot and killed two people and wounded a third at the Oneido casino before police killed him had been fired from the casino’s restaurant, Sheriff Todd Delain said. The shooter was Bruce K. Pofahl. 62. He was fired a few a weeks ago and banned from the property, Delain said. After the shooting began in the Duck Creek Kitchen and Bar, officers responded and within 10 minutes found Pofahl near a parking garage. There, said the sheriff, he was shot and killed. The sheriff said that Pofahl had showed up at the restaurant about 7:30 p.m., approached a server station, and shot two employees at close range with a 9 mm handgun. He went outside and shot another employee. Killed inside were Ian J. Simpson, 32, and Jacob.T Bartel, 35. Outside Profahl shot and wounded a third employee, Daniel L. Mulligan, 28. He remained was in stable condition at a Milwaukee hospital.
