MADISON, Wis. – Two men, one from LaCrosse, the other from Madison, were released on bond after a court appearance on charges connected to the January 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol. Federal Judge Stephen Crocker told Abram Markofski and Brandon Nelson to come back May 10 for another court appearance. Judge Crocker advised them of four criminal counts, including entering in a restricted building and disorderly or disruptive conduct. Among conditions for their interim release, Markofski and Nelson were forbidden from traveling to Washington unless it’s related to the case. They also must check in weekly with pretrial services.

An Eau Claire man, Kevin Loftus, 52, was arrested in January for a role in the Capitol siege. He too was released pending further hearings. There also have been three Minnesota arrests. Total arrests to date nationwide: 410.
