WINONA, Minn. – An online scam that preys mostly on women has prompted Winona police to issue an alert. The scam involves a Facebook account in the name of Brian Roberts. The account shows several Winona area friends,” police said. In the scam, “Brian” begins a private message to a new friend. Then he asks to move the chat into a private messaging program. Then begins a conversation scamming for money. Police advice: Remove, block and delete your profile from friends lists.
