WINONA, Minn. – The City Council approved a 20-year agreement with American Cruise Lines to dock at Levee Park. Riverboats, each carrying 150 to 200 passengers, are are expected to visit 20 times this summer and perhaps more in the future. City Manager Steve Sarvi said the agreement is $400 per boat or $5,000 annually, whichever is greater, with annual increases generally about 3%. Basically the city wants to recover any costs for having these boats tie up at the levy, Sarvi said. “It won’t make us a lot of money as a city,” h said. “The economic benefit will be to the businesses and attractions the visitors go to in the city.”
