ROCHESTER, Minn.— There she was was, passed out on the apartment’s porch. The tenant, just arriving home, then opened the door. Inside the apartment was ransacked. Her pet cat was dead. She called police. The tenant said the kitty was alive and well when she left a couple hours earlier. What happened? Who knows. Police wakened the woman asleep on the porch. Yes, said the tenant, she knew the woman, Angela Fawn Spears, 36, but only slightly and certainly had not let her in. With Spears on the porch, police said, was a backpack with drug gear, marijuana, meth, and burglary tools –a crow bar, a screw driver, and a pick tool. Anything missing from the apartment? No, but a few items had been smashed. Their worth: $30 estimated. This was about 10 p.m. on Broadway Avenue Northwest.
