WASHINGTON– Congress member Ron Kind, D-Wis., said the Wisconsin beer industry stands to lose from President Trump’s new tariff against Canadian aluminum. The 10% hike, Kind said, will mean higher prices and render U.S.-brewed beer less competitive. He noted that Wisconsin beer industry employees 63,000 people and contributes $9 billion annually to the state’s economy. Trump announced the new tariff in a campaign stop in Cleveland, Ohio, as retribution against Canada for, he said, trying to flood the United States with the Canadian metal.
