WINONA, Minn. – A Winona man slumped over his steering wheel at the pumps at an East End convenience store was arrested and booked for suspected drug impairment. Police said that Derek Adam Larue, 42, admitted to meth. A Kwik Trip clerk hd called police about 1:30 p.m. Officers said they found Larue passed out and his car running. Once rousted, he didn’t look good. Police cited rapid eye movement, the eyes bloodshot, his muscles rigid, his speech at an unusually fast gait. He failed on-scene tests for balance and dexterity, police said. At jail the officers drew blood and sent a sample to the state crime lab to determine what was in his system.
