WINONA Minn. – A rescue crew from the Fire Department used a pike pole to retrieve a suspicious item from Gilmore Creek just behind the Gundersen Clinic in the 1100 block of Highway 61. Police, desperate for clues in the disappearance of Maddi Kingsbury 10 days earlier, had called the fire unit. The item was unrelated, police concluded.
