WILSON, Minn. – Two people were airlifted in critical condition from a head-on collision on Highway 43 at Northwood Drive. Mickel Jeffrey Frisch, 28, of Goodview, and Angel Laoness Wallace, 19, of Winona, were in a 2005 Hyundai Tiburon that was heading south, toward Wilson. Police called in two helicopters to fly them 30 miles to the Gundersen trauma center in LaCrosse. The other driver, Matthew Robert Benson, 47, of Preston, was less seriously hurt. He was taken down the hill to the Winona hospital. Benson was driving a Ford F-150 pickup headed north toward Winona. The accident was about 10:50 a.m. Highway 43 was closed several hours.
