WINONA, Minn. – People misheard about a no-appointment Co-Vid vaccine clinic at St. Charles and showed up instead at Winona Health only to be turned away. The open clinic was at the St. Charles Community Center and conducted by Winona County – not the hospital. At 10:15 a.m. Winona Health posted a reminder  that its clinic for the day was by appointment only so as not to exhaust its limited supply of vaccine. Walk-ins were assigned future dates and times. Winona Health said too that its vaccination Friday will be appointment only.

Sara Gabrick, specialty services executive at Winona Health: . “We are grateful that so many community members are interested in getting vaccinated. We understand people’s desire to get vaccinated and hope that our community knows that we are eager to get more people vaccinated as vaccine becomes available, and we appreciate how understanding people have been as we work hard to meet the demand.”
