MADISON, Wis. – Governor Tony Evers asked Karen Timberlake to take back her job as chief of the state health agency. Timberlake would succeed Andrea Palm, who is leaving after two years to join the Biden administration in Washington. Timberlake was Health and Human Services secretary during the 2009 H1N1 pandemic under former Governor Jim Doyle. Said Evers: “Karen Timberlake brings a wealth of experience and knowledge in public health, health care, and health-care systems that will be critical as we continue distributing vaccines quickly in our fight against this virus.” Timberlake said her top priority is getting Wisconsin’s fair share of CoVid vaccines through the troubled federal government distribution system. Timberlake has been on the University of Wisconsin medicine and public health faculty.
