WASHINGTON – The architect of the Wisconsin CoVid vaccine rollout will join the new Biden administration. President-elect Biden announced that Andrea Palmer will be deputy secretary of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Palm previously served as a senior health adviser in the Obama administration. Earlier she was a health staff member for Senator Hillary Clinton, D-New York, and Congressman Robert Matsui, D-Califoria. She was a senior adviser at the White House Domestic Policy Council during implementation rollout of the Affordable Care Act. Palm, 48, holds degrees from Cornell University and Washington University. Officially her Wisconsin title has been Health Services secretary-designee. She was appointedby Governor Tony Evers in 2019 to run the state health agency , but the Republican-controlled Legislature didn’t much like her role in Planned Parenthood and blocked confirmation.
