ETTRICK, Wis. – Rescuers pulled a trapped 16-year-old driver from his car after he lost control and rolled over into Salzwedel Creek three miles east of Ettrick. The extent of his injuries were not ascertained immediately. He was flown 25 miles by medical helicopter to Gundersen hospital in LaCrosse. Deputies said the youth was northbound on Rogness Coulee Road near Emery Lane when he lost control, hit a bridge, overcorrected, crossed the road into the opposite ditch, and rolled into the creek. The accident happened about noon.
