MINNEAPOLIS – The driver of a car that crashed and killed two men, including the son of Gophers men’s hockey coach Bob Motzko, pleaded guilty. James Blue, 22, told the court he was“so drunk or so under the influence of drugs or medicine” that he did not know what was doing. The admission was part of a plea agreement that reduced the original charges to two counts of criminal vehicular homicide. In the agreement Blue said he hoped the judge would sentence him to no more more than 7-1/2 years in prison. He is 52. Police said Blue was driving his Bentley at 100 mph in 25 to 35-mph zones at va Minnetonka park on July 24. He lost control and hit a tree. Killed were 20-year-old Mack Motzko, the son of the University of Minnesota hockey coach, and 24-year-old Sam Schuneman. Blue was ejected from the vehicle. In the plea agreement Blue said he has been in treatment for numerous disorders:
> Three fractured posterior ribs.
> A colon disorder.
> Two shoulder tears.
> A frozen shoulder.
> A degenerative spinal disk.
> Headaches.
> Possible traumatic brain injury.
