MOORHEAD, Minn. –Two teenagers escaped from a juvenile detention center in a county vehicle, which led to a 100-mph police chase. A Moorhead police officer spotted the vehicle and attempted to stop it, but the driver kept going, and the officer lost sight of the vehicle. Later a sheriff’s deputy tried to stop the vehicle, but the driver fled on Interstate 94 with speeds hitting 100 mph. Twenty-five miles later, a Barnesville police officer used stop sticks on the interstate. At least one tire blew out, but that didn’t stop the chase. The teens exited into Barnesville. There, the deputy maneuvered his vehicle to intercept the teens. They were arrested. The pair face charges including escape, fleeing, and vehicle theft.
