AUSTIN, Minn. – An Austin man and his Iowa father were arrested separately and charged by the FBI for roles in the Trump Insurrection attempt at the U.S. Capitol on January 6. The son, Daniel Johnson, 29, was taken into custody at his home by FBI agents from Minneapolis and by Austin police. There was no resistance. He was taken to U.S. Court in Minneapolis for arraignment. The father, Daryl Johnson, 50, was arrested 20 miles south of Austin just over the state line at St. Ansgar, Iowa. The father was arraigned in U.S. Court in Cedar Rapids. Iowa. The charges against both men were boilerplate from the roughly 600 other insurrection arrests so far to start judicial proceedings:

> Entering and remaining in a restricted building.

> Disorderly and disruptive conduct in a restricted building.

> Violent entry and disorderly conduct in a Capitol building.

> Parading, demonstrating or picketing in a Capitol building.

Apparently naively the Johnsons left bread crumbs online that led to the arrests; These included:

> January 7. A video on Snapchat account from inside the U.S. Capitol during the riot.

> January 18:  A screenshot of a Facebook comment that stated, “I was one of the first ones inside the capitol building.”

The FBI also has information from a tipster. In addition, the FBI reported:

>A text message from the son on January 6: “’We stormed capitol hill” “Lol Dad and I were one of the first ones inside.”

> A Facebook comment by the father: “I was there.”
