DES MOINES, Iowa – Federal marshals arrested a teenager wanted for a fatal shooting at a shopping mall near Appleton, Wisconsin. Few details were released except that the arrest of Dezman Ellis, 17, was without incident. The arrest was about 3:30 p.m. on the city’s Southside. Unclear was how Ellis made it 400 miles to Des Moines from Grand Chute, Wisconsin, where the shooting occurred. Also: Why Des Moines? Grand Chute police had warned people to consider Ellis armed and dangerous, but U.S. marshals said there was no resistance in the arrest. Grand Chute police had suspected that Ellis had left the state and asked the U.S. Marshal Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force to help track him down. What led the search to Des Moines was unclear.
