BLACK RIVER FALLS, Wis. – One firefighter was treated for injuries sustained at a house fire overnight on the North Side. No residents of the small frame house were injured. Two dogs escaped but not a third. Fire Chief Jody Stoker said the call came at 12:22 a.m. When firefighters arrived at 312 Alder Street, they found heavy smoke and flames shooting from windows. Once inside, crews quickly controlled the fire. Police Chief Jeremy Isensee called the circumstances “suspicious.” The State Fire Marshal was asked the investigate.
Residents escaped. So did two of three pet dogs.
