CHASEBURG, Wis. – Neighbors helped usher cattle out of a smoky barn fire south of town near Highway K and Hamburg Road. Twenty to 30 feet of one side of the barn was lost. Assistant Fire Chief Ken Phillips of Coon Valley tentatively blamed a plugged-in tractor. Enough of the barn was saved, he said, to move the cattle back in. Five fire departments responded to the fire.
