WINONA, Minn. – A trailer-style trash compactor caught fire inside the RPC Painting Building, filling a loading area with smoke. Employees managed to roll the trailer outside. Firefighters tried to drench the fire, but not all the flames could be reached. The compactor had to be unloaded and the contents spread out to extinguish what was still burning. This was about 7:30 a.m. at 503 Front Street.
