WINONA, Minn. – The turkeys are roasting at the Winona High School for the Student Council’s annual community Thanksgiving dinner. But thanks to the coronavirus, the dinner won’t be sit-down at tables in the school concourse. Student Council adviser Jackie Stevens said students shifted gears this year. “We came up with an alternative so that retired community members could still receive a meal,” she said. Curb-side pick-up and home delivery begin at 5 p.m., Tuesday. By the reservation deadline November 18, some 384 meals had been requested, compared with 275 last year. The meals are free because of local merchant donations.
