ST. PAUL, Minn. – Governor Tim Walz removed his face mask and, citing new federal guidelines, said it was OK for all Minnesotans to do the same. There are caveats, however. The U.S. Centers for Disease Control said that going maskless is safe only for people who have completed the Covid vaccination series. Walz said the policy change “reflects the discipline and the commitment here in Minnesota and in many places across the country to protecting not only themselves, but their neighbors.” Masks remain mandated in buses, planes, hospitals, prisons, homeless shelters, at merchants who choose to require them. Walz first mandated masks on July 22.
