BLUE EARTH, Minn. – Congressman Jim Hagedorn, R-Minn., reported he tested negative for COVID-19. He had flown on Air Force One with President Donald Trump Wednesday on the president’s visit to Minnesota. A little more than a day later Trump came down with the dreaded and highly contagious virus. Hagedorn, 58, who represents the First Congressional District, which stretches across southern Minnesota, is COVID-vulnerable because of kidney cancer. He said Congress’ attending physician told him that his interactions with fellow politicos on the plane, several of whom have tested positive, did not meet the criteria of close contact — within a sixfeet for more than 15 minutes. The incubation period, however, can be several days. The congressman said he will continue his official duties, albeit with a mask.
