WINONA, Minn. – The Winona High School principal, Mark Anderson, sent a message to parents to scotch rumors that some students might be planning a school shooting. Police were called about 9 a.m. because of the rumor They concluded that one student had been eavesdropping on a conversation among other students about how theoretically they would handle an active-shooter situation. The overheard conversation was misunderstood, Anderson said. There was no danger imminent or otherwise.
