BLACK RIVER ALS, Wis. — The Ho-Chunk nation reported that it called in third-party cybersecurity and privacy experts to figure out what went wrong with the tribe’s interconnected casino network that forced most of the casinos to close for several days. Marlon Whiteeagle, tribe president, didn’t detail what happened. No personal information was compromised, he said. Whiteeagle said that tribe technology team locked down the network quickly and found workarounds to get things back in order, albeit it took four days for some casinos to reopen. Outside experts, he said, have assured that safeguards are in place to prevent a recurrence.
