WASHINGTON – The U.S. House voted 220-210 for a sweeping overhaul of election law. The bill would restrict partisan gerrymandering; allow same-day and automatic voter registration; restore the franchise to people with criminal records; expand early voting, voting by mail, and absentee drop boxes; and curtail gray campaign donations by wealthy donors.
