LACROSSE, Wis. – Iowa State trooper Ted Benda, 37, died in a hospital from injuries suffered when his car overturned five days ago near Postville. Benda was heading north to assist sheriff’s deputies with a wanted suspect. He was assigned to the Patrol’s District 10 in Oelwein. Earlier he was in Marquette and Mason City. Survivors include his wife Holly and four young children.
