MINNEAPOLIS – No guns at the State Fair. Indeed, it’s the law. Judge Laura Nelson ruled against an attempt by the Minnesota Gun Owners Caucus to end the gun ban. The Fair opens Thursday. The gun-owners claimed they had a legal right to carry handguns as long as the weapons were registered. “Whoa,” said Judge Nelson. She ruled that the Caucus failed to meet its burden of proof that the fair’s longstanding ban on guns, going back to 2003, violates state law. Also, she said, Caucus failed to demonstrate sufficient legal grounds to seek relief.
