LACROSSE, Wis. – The bishop of the LaCrosse Catholic diocese, William Patrick Callahan, has contracted Covid. A diocesan spokesperson called the symptoms mild. Callahan, 71, is isolating while being monitored by a medical team, tthe spokesperson said. It was last weekend that Callahan tested positive. Callahan’s diagnosis follows that of the former bishop Raymond Burke, who was hospitalized 21 days on a ventilator. Burke has since been released from the hospital.
