WINONA, Minn. – A Winona man told police that a woman-friend assaulted him at the Lake Winona fishing pier behind the hospital after he refused to give her money for drugs. Based on the man’s account and his obvious injuries, police arrested Breanna Rose Burt, 39, of Winona. She was booked for domestic c assault. As police reconstructed what happened, the assault was preceded by an argument at a residence in the 550 block of Hamilton Street. The woman wanted money to buy drugs, and the man  wouldn’t give her any. The woman was ordered out of the house. Later the man, age 60, left to pick her up — where isn’t clear —  and he drove them to the fishing pier. In the car, according to the man’s account, the woman swung at him. He caught the swing, at which point she she flung a plastic cup of soda into his face. As he swiped the soda off, she clenched a fist and punched him in the face. He called the cops. This was about 6:30 p.m.
