CALEDONIA, Minn. – Two Republican legislators, both up for re-election, issued a new joint ews release that they are pressing the owners of sports equipment manufacturer Miken to keep the company in Caledonia. Congressman Jim Hagedorn and State Representative Greg Davids have done this before but have been ignored by Miken’s owners. So too it is again. At issue are 80 Caledonia jobs that Miken’s corporate parents plan to outsource to China in 2023. Earlier U.S. Senator Tina Smith, D-Minnesota, and State Senator Jeremy Miller, D-Winona, also asked Miken to reconsider but they too received a deaf ear.
