WINONA, Minn. – An unusually warm fall has confused the flowers. Yes, usually spring-blooming lilacs are budding and blossoming. So too are azaleas. A University of Minnesota horticulturist, Julie Wiesenhorn, expects there will be a price to pay. Come spring, she said, the blooms probably won’t last as long or be as vibrant.
