MINNEAPOLIS –- Police shot and killed a man during a traffic stop on the city’s south side Wednesday night — the first police-involved death in the city since George Floyd died in May and stirred ongoing anxiety about Minneapolis policing. The man who was stopped was a suspected felon, Police Chief Medaria Arradondo said. The chief quoted witnesses that the man fired first. He was pronounced dead at the scene. A woman in the car was not hurt. No officers were injured. The incident, about 6:15 p.m., was less than a mile from where Floyd was killed.
