ROCHESTER, Minn. – Mayo Clinic’s payroll has climbed to 41,000 in Rochester, according to the clinic’s annual report. Systemwide last year there were 73,000 employees. These include far-flung operations in Arizona, Florida, Wisconsin and outstate Minnesota. The report also said that Mayo’s net operating income reached $1.2 billion in 2021. The clinic suffered a 25% drop due to the pandemic in 2020, but that’s like, well, ancient history. Compared to 2020, the Mayo Clinic’s net operating income was up 66.5% last year. Overall revenues were up 14%.
