DAVENAPORT, Iowa – Mayor Mike Matson said work will proceed gingerly to clear rubble around a collapsed apartment building wall where it’s feared three tenants were buried a week ago. The clean-up had been delayed by fear that the remaining walls could collapse on searchers. Now, said Matson, it’s to recognize that the debris pile must be cleared and may a “place of rest” for the unaccounted persons.
