WINONA, Minn. – State Senator Jeremy Miller, R-Winona, introduced legislation to continue the state tax credit for renovating historical buildings. The tax credit has been part of the Minnesota tax code since 2010 but is scheduled to expire in June. Miller said the credit recognizes historical value while promoting economic development. He pointed to four downtown Winona projects, including the Latsch Building and 102 Walnut. These projects, he said, generated $2 million in investment. Statewide, he said, the credit has meant $3.5 billion of economic activity and created 18,000 jobs.
