NEW YORK – The Minneapolis Star Tribune won the 2021 Pulitzer Prize for breaking news reporting for its “urgent, authoritative and nuanced coverage of the police killing of George Floyd and the reverberations that followed.” The staff of the Associated Press global news aency won the Pulitzer for photographs from multiple U.S. cities that “cohesively captures the country’s response to the death of George Floyd.” The Star Tribune’s Pulitzer was the seventh for its and ts predecessor papers:
> 2013: Brad Schrade, Jeremy Olson and Glenn Howell for local reportting.
> 2013: Steve Sack for editorial cartooning.
> 1990: Lou Kilzer sand Chris Ison for investigative reporting.
> 1968: Nick Kotz for national reporting.

> 1948: Nat Finney for national reporting.
The Pulitzers were created in 1917 by newspaper magnate Joseph Pulitzer. The awards are through the Columbia University School of Journalism.
