ST. PAUL, Minn. — State health officials reported 2,500 new Covid infections, the highest single-day total since January, and tentatively blamed rapid-transmitting variants of the coronavirus. The rise in cases and hospitalizations has been steady in c days despite accelerating vaccines. About 1.9 million Minnesotans have received at least one dose, and more than 1.2 million who have been fully vaccinated.
