Rochester woman arraigned in federal court

ST. PAUL, Minn. – FBI agents arrested a Rochester woman at home and took her to the St. Paul federal courthouse for arraignment for invading the U.S. Capitol in the January 6 ransacking. Victoria Charity White. 39, was charged with six counts, which included:

> Knowingly entering the Capitol without authority.

> Obstructing the business of Congress.

> Being disorderly, disruptive and violent.

> Impeding law enforcement officers.

White was arrested at the Capitol during the rioting but was released pending further investigation. Later an anonymous tip led the FBI to Facebook posts and photos that White implicated herself in the riot. Separately investigators found other social media evidence that they claim show White storming a Capitol entrance against police officers in riot gear who were being assaulted as they tried, unsuccessfully, to keep the mob out. The charges allege that White helped hoist a rioter, who made his way to the entrance and assaulted officers trying to hold back the crowd The FVI agents allege too that White cheered with a fist raised as rioters forced a large flagpole into the entryway. Investigators point too to security videos hat show a woman believed to be White making her way to the front of the crowd, where it appears she is trying to grab one of the officers and is pushed back and struck with a baton. Another video, posted on YouTube, appears to show White arguing with another group of rioters who were attempting to smash the glass over an entrance to the Capitol building. It appears she is trying to pull them away physically from the dangerous shards. At the Capitol as the riot was peaking, White was detained briefly. Her hands were zip-tied behind her back. In the mayhem, however, she and many rioters were released until an orderly investigation would be possible.
